All dusts are explosive to a certain degree however cereal dusts such as barley, corn starch and other airborne powders generated from the processing of grains are high on the explosive rating charts and any processing of this dust must be handled with care. Should a filter catch fire and an explosion occur, (which is a rare event but unfortunately does happen), filters with VFV™ vent vertically through the roof via an ATEX approved explosion membrane.
