Over 90% of schools have poor, incorrectly sized and inefficient dust extraction systems. They were installed many years ago for the lowest tendered cost, and with expansion of wood processing machinery in schools today, now don’t provide acceptable extraction. Dust filters in schools are often placed in expensive Plant Rooms which is the worst place possible for a filter to be - often these have some roof covering and with inhabited classrooms on the other side of the wall.
